Yummy Donuts

Jan, 4 Boy Sets, Burberry, CPC Childrenswear, Mommy style

The first day back to school after Christmas break required a pit stop at the donut shop on the way!  Sorry, Ms. Raquel ;). Big Brother was so excited to see his friends again that he was up at the crack of dawn, so we had a little time to kill. You’re lookin at it here: Baby Brothers first ever bite of a donut.  I suppose I could say that he wished he hadn’t waited so long!

When getting Big Brother dressed for school I try dress him in something that he can play well in and also be comfortable enough to focus in.  He also usually needs layers as he moves from different parts of the school or in and out from the playground.  Of course I also want him to look cute, or as he says, handsome!

I adore the Fall 16 collection of CPC Childrenswear.  I love a collection that offers identical prints and fabrics in different age appropriate styles.  These timeless corduroy truck pants and truck embroidered overalls caught my attention immediately upon walking into one of my favorite childrens stores in Dallas, Hip Hip Hooray.  I must say that I think this is the best quality corduroy that I’ve ever had for the kids.  It is so soft yet sturdy enough to nicely hold its shape and stay wrinkle free.  It’s the perfect weight for chilly Texas days. It’s made primarily of cotton but has just a touch of spandex in it so the kids can move and play in it easily.  Best of all, although we’ve washed these several times, they still look as good as new.

I chose these super soft pima cotton striped turtlenecks to pair with the cords.  I thought the stripe added an extra element of fun and and the navy helped highlight the color of the wheels on the embroidery.  These have been so versatile and we’ve mixed and matched them with all sorts of bottoms.  We topped Big Brothers with a pima knit sweater in his favorite color to match the trucks on his pants.  I’m sure it comes as no surprise that they wore their (mommys) favorite saddle shoes.

I put on my favorite jeans, whatever sweater was hanging within reach, threw on this incredibly soft and warm trench coat, and slipped into my most worn style of Flats.

The first day back to school was a success for Big Brother. Baby Brother stayed too wired to take his morning nap!
