After Christmas and Easter, I’d have to say Valentines Day is my favorite holiday! I love a reason to celebrate any day and turn it into something out of the ordinary.  I remember counting down the days until I could take my handmade valentines to my classmates as a child, then coming home to a pristinely decorated dinner table full of shiny hearts and red and pink balloons.  My mother always knew how to make each holiday we observed a festive and magical occasion. Now, I enjoy doing the same for my kiddos.  So, we are already getting ready for Valentines Day at our house.

At snack time we usually sit down at our play table .  I love to keep it decorated according to the season.  Finding heart adorned items that are not “for girls” as my big boy would say, is a challenge for a mom of boys. Pottery Barn Kids never disappoints when it comes to offering fun themed child safe table wear.  I had fun picking out these plates and cups for two little ones who have truly stolen my heart! I substituted placemats for a table runner and hung these precious personalized fabric envelopes on the back of their chairs to add a little extra punch.

I dressed the kids in their every holiday tab sets by Pixie Lily – Big Brother in the shorts set and Baby Brother in the bloomer set.  They truly wear these all year long and we switch out the tabs at Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter.  They have been a really fun item for me to have in their closets.  As a mom, I think I can wear hearts any time of the year!  I got this fun linen heart print blouse over the summer that is now on sale and is also made in black and white.
